Design Guidelines

In order to maintain compatibility and consistency among ReDo elements, we follow a set of well-defined standards. These guidelines ensure that every part, whether electronic or mechanical, integrates seamlessly within the system. By adhering to standardized unit sizes, screw dimensions, and connector types, we create a foundation that allows users to mix, match, and reuse components without limitations.

Our approach not only guarantees reliability but also empowers creativity. Builders can design new parts with confidence, knowing they will work alongside existing modules. These guidelines are open and transparent, inviting the community to contribute while preserving a unified ecosystem.

3D Model Design Guidelines For ReDo Elements

  1. All measurements are in millimeters (mm).
  2. The main dimensions are based on 10 mm. Other suggested sizes are multiples or fractions of 10 mm: 5 mm, 2.5 mm, 1 mm, 20 mm, 50 mm, etc.
  3. M3 standard screws are used for assembly of parts.
  4. Holes for tight-fit screws should have a 2.5 mm diameter.
  5. Holes for free-fit screws should have a 3.0 mm diameter.
  6. Holes for free-fit screws are recommended to have a 2.0 mm equal-sided chamfer.
  7. Tight-fit screw holes should have a minimum depth of 2.0 mm. The recommended minimum depth is 3.50 mm.
  8. Outer corners of parts should have a 0.5 mm equal-sided chamfer.
  9. For the round parts, the diameter should be 0.5 mm reduced.
